All4Skills shall strategically design programs with an aim of expanding the target as well as program portfolio. increase the number of persons who benefit from the services. dropping programs that are non-beneficial Strategy planning Matrix The organization will use matrix below to formulate its strategies. Derivation of the programs depends on the target populations, risk level, and costs. Current /Existing program Future program Existing Users Expanding programs to the current or same users Providing better quality services interventions through program improvement. New Users Availing benefits to new users New forms of interventions to new users Some of the growth strategies that the organization intends to use shall include market penetration, product development, market development, and diversification (Kotler Andreasen, 2003). Partnership with other organizations is fundamental in achieving our strategic goals. Generation of strategies will follow immediately after the choice of decisions. Cost-Benefit Analysis It is a technique used to decide which alternatives are likely to yield the greatest returns on more funds investment. It is also known as cost effectiveness analysis to set up the investment activities or programs which when undertaken, would give the most service outcome (Kotler Andreasen, 2003). The program strategic growth shall expend its rese rves to give quality services and later yield more fees. The program prospects to cost the organization about $100,000 from its activities for the next one year. Cost elements relevant to this spending are from the strategic activities mentioned earlier. This process would in turn benefit our organization through extra fees to the tune of $65,000. We project that our partnerships and linkages with the external organizations and donor will generate about $105,000. The net expected benefits for the coming year are $70,000. However, the organization shall gain many non-quantifiable benefits, which include the following: increased satisfaction of its participants improved organizational or corporate reputation gained from its activities. increased participantsââ¬â¢ self-worth and esteem Increased social competence and life skills Increased awareness of the community Increased service portfolio Forecasting for All4Skills It is a technique used for estimating future elements of a bus iness or operations. It is an important process since it gives a representative picture of how future operations of an organization to allow preliminary planning (Kotler Andreasen, 2003). All4Skills expect a hopeful future and it shall use forecasting techniques to gain insight of its future development. The success of any operation or organization depends on how efficient its management can forecast its future and design relevant strategies to discuss the likely future scenarios (McDonald Wilson, 2011).Advertising Looking for term paper on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More In this process, the organization shall make good use of both qualitative and quantitative approaches to forecasting. Qualitative approaches are methods used by experts to generate forecasts especially where no historical data is present (Luther, 2011). Additionally, changes in conditions affecting business operations may give such historical data obsolete and irrelevant in making future forecasts. Under this group, All4Skills shall use the approach of scenario writing as a qualitative method. On the other hand, quantitative methods are useful in establishing future elements of a business based on analysis of historical data. Scenario Writing The forecaster begins from a set of assumptions to develop realistic situations in this method. The process will benefit from a derivation of organizational scenario based on a given set of conditions (McLeish, 2010). In this process, the forecaster shall encounter many scenarios from which decision makers will select the most likely that appli es to its operations. Time series using projection of trend The technique relies on the underlying long-term patterns of observations to arrive at future values. The growth in the number of participants is a critical element that measures the progress of All4Skills since its aim is to grow a large set of skilled youth within its area of operation. Historical data show the trend in growth over time. Based on this trend, the organization can figure with some degree of certainty how the picture would be in the future (Allison Kaye, 2005) and (McDonald Wilson, 2011). Conclusion All4Skills focuses on bettering the lives of youths through training in sportsmanship, life skills, leadership, and co-operation. The program has succeeded in many ways since 2008, and records show growth of 75% in membership. The organization attributes these successes to its strategic partnerships, highly skilled staff, government support, and community involvement. Development of youths through nurturing of talent remains the driving force of our organization. Community surveys have shown that the All4Skills has positively influenced the lives of many youths both directly and indirectly. Participating youths who have remained actively involved to the program have shown positive development in respect of self-confidence, esteem and talent growth. Behavior change among these youths is clear from progress reports maintained from foster schools attended by these youths. The organization anticipates delivering quality service for participants and diversification into many related programs, to help its target population wholesomely. Our target is to improve our service delivery and increase the number of participating youths for the next activity year. Additionally, we project to expand our service portfolio through extensive marketing with an aim of increasing fees. Our core emphasis is to differentiate our services from the rest of the market players and creating appropriate public relatio ns programs. The organization uses the cost benefit analysis to measure the real outcome against the expenses. The analysis evaluates both quantifiable and non-quantifiable benefits to both the organization and the youths. Therefore, application of quantitative and qualitative techniques assists in forecasting of the future progress. References Allison, M. J., Kaye, J. (2005). Jan Matzeliger and the History of Shoe Production
Jan Matzeliger and the History of Shoe Production Jan Matzeliger was an immigrant cobbler working in a shoe factory in New England when he invented a new process that changed shoe-making forever.à Early Life Jan Matzeliger was born in in 1852à in Paramaribo, Dutch Guiana (known today as Suriname). He was a shoemaker by trade, the son of a Surinamese homemaker and a Dutch engineer. The younger Matzeliger showed an interest in mechanics and began working in his dadââ¬â¢s machine shop at the age of ten. Matzeliger left Guiana at age 19, joining a merchant ship. Two years later, in 1873, he settled in Philadelphia. As a dark-skinned man with little command of English, Matzeliger struggled to survive.à With the help of his tinkering ability and support from a local black church, he eked out a living and eventually began working for a cobbler. A "Lasting" Impact on Shoe-Making At this time the shoe industry in America was centered in Lynn, Massachusetts, and Matzeliger traveled there and eventually landed a job at a shoe factory operating a sole-sewing machine that was used to stitch different pieces of a shoe together. The final stage of shoemaking at this timeattaching the upper part of a shoe to the sole, a process called ââ¬Å"lastingâ⬠was a time-consuming task that was done by hand.à Matzeliger believed that lasting could be done by machine and set about devising just how that might work. His shoe lasting machine adjusted the shoe leather upper snugly over the mold, arranged the leather under the sole and pinned it in place with nails while the sole was stitched to the leather upper. The Lasting Machine revolutionized the shoe industry. Instead of taking 15 minutes to last a shoe, a sole could be attached in one minute. The efficiency of the machine resulted in mass production- a single machine could last 700 shoes in a day, compared to 50 by a hand laster- and lower prices. Jan Matzeliger obtained a patent for his invention in 1883. Tragically, he developed tuberculosis not long after and died at the age 37. He left his stock holdings to his friends and to the First Church of Christ in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Information Systems and Processing Controls Assignment
Information Systems and Processing Controls - Assignment Example Moreover, they provide balances and checks that are only spotted on calculation errors in the business books, and the also the mismatched entry of items. According to Tyler (2013) found out that audit software aided the auditor in generating models and simulations that are of help to study the financial approach of the business, and how it can be restructured. In addition, the auditor can also use the model to judge the potential risk that is posed by the current system. The computer-assisted audits lead to increased accuracy of the audit results by reducing the overall time spent on transactions. It also lessens disruption to business activities by reducing the amount of documentation you need to retrieve, thereby saving your time and money. Tyler (2013) asserted that the program audit performed a wide variety of tasks like recalling calculated interest from invoices; analytical procedures; testing the configuration of the operating system; re-performing the calculations that have been done by the accounting systems entity. Subsequent advantages are; there are long-term economies, it reads the actual records, deals with large volumes of transactions. The schedules and reports that have been generated by the computer are more objective and professional thus enhancing communication of data. According to Wavomba (2010) reported that the organization gains assurance regarding the accuracy of the transactional data and the extent to which the business transactions adhere to controls and comply with policies. The consisted use of the automated transaction analysis and continuous monitoring enables real-time independent testing and validation of critical data. To sum up, it improves management of auditing procedures. Integrated test facility package is a quality control responsibility that utilizes, monitors, and controls the dummy test data through existing programs and checks the existence and adequacy ofà program data entry controls and processing controls (Koch, 2009).Ã

LITERATURE REVIEW ON A BUSINESS INNOVATION Essay
LITERATURE REVIEW ON A BUSINESS INNOVATION - Essay Example The 3D printing innovation underwent a long evolution that depicts great development in terms of affordability, usability, and efficiency in its numerous applications. The MIT and ZS Corporation made significant contributions to the introduction and development of the 3D printing innovation. 3D printing is a versatile yet short process that has great significance in digital economies that can change the world. It relates to the Rogersââ¬â¢s Diffusion of Innovation Theory. However, despite its significance and numerous applications, people are still considering various aspects before adopting 3D printing in their manufacturing companies. Nevertheless, 3D printing remains to be a fundamental aspect in the business world. Introduction 3D printing is one of the most celebrated business innovations that continue to influence the manufacturing and production industry. Also known as additive manufacturing, 3D printing is business and technological innovation that encompasses the process of making a three-dimensional solid product of any shape using a digital model (3Ders.org 2013, p. 1). Indeed, 3D printing is a huge versatile and rapid process that accommodates geometry of varying complexity in variant applications, and supporting many types of materials (Z Corporation 2005, p. 2). The 3D printers operate at resounding speeds, extremely low costs, and within a wide range of applications (Z Corporation 2005, p. 2). ... Additionally, products manufactured through 3D printing are applicable anywhere in the product life cycle. To achieve 3D printing, innovators used an additive process, where successive layers of material adopt different shapes. The 3D printing innovation, which uses additive processes, is completely different from the traditional machining processes, which used subtractive processes to remove materials in the manufacturing process. Indeed, 3D printing uses digital technology where it uses standard inkjet printing technology to create parts layer-by-layer by depositing a liquid binder onto thin layers of powder (Z Corporation 2005, p. 3). Then it moves the print heads over a bed of powder where it prints the cross-sectional data sent from .stl, .wrl, .ply, and .sfx files through a feed piston and platform (Z Corporation 2005, p. 2). Notably, the cross sectional layers join automatically to produce the final shape. The 3D printing offers improved visualization, greater automation, and more cost-effective reuse of 3D data (Z Corporation 2005, p. 2). Subject to its numerous applications, ability to produce objects of any shape or geometric feature, its effectiveness, and its low costs of production, 3D printing stands out as a successful business innovation using digital solutions. Indeed, through the 3D printing innovation, we can manufacture products locally (D'Aveni 2013, p. 1) and close to their point of purchase or consumption through a cheaper and faster process. Subject to its significance and effectiveness, the demand for 3D printers is on an increasing trend in the modern times. In this report, I will include the conceptual framework of this case using relevant theories. I will then present my findings and analyze the case. Conceptual

Benefits for consumers in an oligopoly market
Benefits for consumers in an oligopoly market This essay wills analysis the both advantages and disadvantages for consumers in this oligopoly market structure. Non-price competition and rigidity price are two main advantages for consumer, however, collusion make the loss of interests of consumer. An oligopolistic market can be defined as one market structure which has a few firms connected with each other to control the price and supply of market (Anderton, 2008). Compare with the characteristic of oligopoly, the UK supermarket industry are oligopolistic market. The most important factor is that the supermarket in UK have been dominated by four firms, which are Morrisons, Asda, Sainsburys and Tesco (SKYNEWS, 2009), they controlled approximately 75% grocery sales in UK ( natural choices, 2008). Therefore, the price of market is also controlled by them. In addition, these four firms brought more land in order to raise the barriers to entry (Daily Mail, 2007). Furthermore, firms would like to use the marketing mix to sell their pro duct at right place, using a reasonable price and useful promotion. For instance, these four supermarkets will spend more money on advertising every year (telegraph, 2009). Finally, collusion is a common situation in oligopolistic markets, such as, price collusion in supermarkets in UK (Mail online, 2008). Non-price competition is a marketing strategy of supplier to earning more profit. As market will make a decision depend on marketing mix, which include product, place, price, and promotion, consumer will get profit from this strategy (Anderton, 2008). Product is the main factor should be considered, it is homogenous in general. Businesses should determine the people who use their product firstly (Hall, 2009). For instance, if they sell toys, they will use bright colors or cartoon characters to attract childrens attention. In addition, owing to the improving technology, product innovation will increase in order to meet peoples needs. Therefore, market research will avoid businesses make mistake. At the same time, they also can know what kind of product consumers will buys. Another benefit for consumer is the pricing strategy, price has been made depending on the quality of product (Marketing teacher, 2008). Therefore, consumer do not have to worry about the value of product over the quality, they will buy product in a fair market. According to news from mail online, Aldi and Lidl beat the big four due to the cheaper price. As a consequence, these two stores win the consumers trust, 61 per sent much higher than Tesco and Asda which just less than 50 per sent (Mail Online, 2010). From this research, it is easy to see that price is a extremely import factor to businesses and consumers. In spite of these two factors, place is also the important item. As we can see from the table on the below, with the increasing number of stores have opened, peoples life has become more convenient (Solar navigator, 2005). If consumers are used to buy a brand, they will not change their mind arbitrarily. Therefore, consumer will go to the same store at different place. It will make them assured. Furthermore, online shopping is also become a hot topic for people, they can shop at home, it not only left their time, but also saving traffic expenses. Moreover, 24 hours store also provide convenience for consumers. Format Number Area (ftà ²) Area (mà ²) Percentage of space Tesco Extra 100 6.6 million 613,000 27.2% Tesco 446 13.9 million 1,290,000 57.4% Tesco Metro 160 1.9 million 180,000 7.8% Tesco Express 546 1.1 million 102,000 4.5% One Stop 527 0.7 million 65,000 3.1% Total 1,779 24.2 million 2,250,000 100% Finally, promotion is the way businesses show their product to consumer. During this process, businesses will combine the features of product to choose a suitable promotional method. Businesses can use advertising slogan or show their products feature in order to draw peoples attention. Consequently, consumer can choose a brand of product which they prefer. Meanwhile, consumer will know more information about the product. Moreover, consumer also can earn profit due to the rigidity price. Based on the kinked demand cure on the below, assume A is the market price, if one firm rise their price, other firms will not follow (S-cool, 2000). Therefore, consumers would like to buy cheaper one of same product. Above the point A is the price elastic, which means businesses will loss profit if they improve their price. On the other hand, if one firm decreases the price, others will relatively drop down at the same time. However, cutting price when demand is inelastic, which also make the revenue falling. As a result, businesses will not change their price random; they will try to keep a stable price in the market. Consequently, consumers have become the most beneficiary. Nevertheless, collusion cause consumer lost much profit. It defined as a few number of rival firms make decision together for earning more profit. For instance, four supermarkets can control the supply of product; meanwhile, they will increase their price to get more abnormal profit. In addition, experienced businessman will have tacit, tacit collusion will occur that time. Formal collusion also destroys consumers benefit, because businesses always put their profit on the first place. As a consequence, consumer should face an unfair situation, because they have no ability to change the price (Anderton, 2009). In conclusion, although collusion creates significant disadvantages for consumerà ¼Ã
âthey can be benefited more from the marketing mix and rigidity price,. In specific, instead of price competition solely, consumers needs be satisfied by marketing mix. Business will use suitable promotion and price in different place, which depending on the type of their product. Furthermore, stable price let consumer use reasonable price to buy product they wanted. On the other hand, collusion has created disadvantages for consumers by control supply and price. However, government has already prepared to stop this phenomenon (Mail Online, 2009), which is a good news for consumers. Overall, these four supermarkets played a significant role in peoples normal life in UK; increasing number of requirement can be fulfilled. However, these four supermarkets take too much market share, it make high barrier for new firms. Government should consider reduce the barriers to entry, therefore, consumers will have more choice for buying product.

Benefit to Home Country Essay
A relatively small number of disease and conditions account for a large share of health burden, and most of them can be prevented and treated with low cost interventions. However Maldives have a shortage of physicians, nursed and allied health workers, and much of the population lives a significant distance from a tertiary health care facility. So, access to medical care is a constant challenge for a substantial portion of the population. Very few health care providers are trained specifically in community health and safety, despite the presence of several strong medical programs within the country. Maleââ¬â¢ Health Service Corporation Ltd (MHSC/MALDIVES) is the first health corporation formed in April 2010. MHSC was formed to provide health care needs within the country. (Approximately sixty percent of the population) However maternity care is one of the main leading forefronts (www.mhsc.com.mv). Lack of skilled health care professionals and the related difficulties in distributi on of the necessary health care resources has resulted in the majority of births occurring in the tertiary hospital (IGMH). Moreover caesarean delivery rates are higher in the island hospitals due to the lack of skilled based midwives. (www.health.gov.mv) Furthermore, the vast majority of the population having little or no knowledge regarding health care issues can be attributed to the poor health care system in the country. Despite the difficulties in the field, with the gained knowledge and experience, I would like to strengthen the maternity care within the country. Every woman should have the choice for a planned pregnancy, safe birth and healthy newborns. To deliver a maternity service that enables women to have a positive birth experience and gives midwives the satisfaction of providing quality care, it is important to consider the organizational structures and environment in which it is delivered. The aim of WHO strategy based in Maldives in the year 2005 was safe pregnancy, evaluation of health care workers and development of guidelines for reduction of maternal mortality (www.who.org.mv). Hence, this must be done in conjunction with the appropriate use of healthcare professionalsââ¬â¢ skills. Some of the key factors include: improving the environment the care is given, strengthening multidisciplinary partnership. Policy development and strategy making are some other factors to be looked upon. Yet the importance of healthcare management in an organization is realized when the organization is fully staffed and is financially sound to inve st in advanced equipments. A basic concept in health care management is to provide affordable health care services to an average person. For example to pay for health visits, drugs, caring of the elderly etc. My aim is to strengthen the midwives in the country. To enroll skilled based professionals in giving care to the pregnant women in a financially feasible budget, while educating the community respectively. To conclude I believe the organization will benefit as I believe myself worthy candidate for the health care management program.

Childrens Stories About Being Yourself
The ancient Greek storyteller Aesop is credited with crafting scores of tales with valuable moral lessons. Many of them still resonate today, including the following tales about being yourself. Pretense Is Only Skin Deep Aesops fables tell us that nature will shine through no matter what package you put it in. Theres no point in pretending to be something youre not because the truth will eventually come out, either by accident or by force. The Cat and Venus. A cat falls in love with a man and begsà Venus to change her into a woman. Venus complies, and the man and cat-woman are married. But when Venus tests her by dropping a mouse into the room, the cat-woman leaps up to chase it. The cat can change her appearance, but not her nature. The Ass in the Lions Skin. A donkey puts on a lions skin and runs around the jungle scaring the other animals. But when he opens his mouth, his bray gives him away. The Vain Jackdaw. Dressing in the discarded feathers of other birds, a jackdaw almost convinces Jupiter to appoint him king of the birds. But the other birds strip him of his disguise and reveal his true nature. The Cat and the Birds. A cat, hearing that the birds are ill, dresses as a doctor and offers his help. The birds, seeing through his disguise, reply that theyre fine and will continue to be so if he will only leave. After all, the birds have a lot more at stake than the cat does. The Dangers of Pretense Aesops fables also warn us that trying to be something youre not can alienate others. The protagonists in these tales end up worse off than if they had just accepted themselves. The Jackdaw and the Doves. A jackdaw paints his feathers white because he likes the looks of the doves food. But they catch on to him and chase him away. When he goes back to eat with the other jackdaws, they donââ¬â¢t recognize his white feathers, so they, too, chase him away. Guess who ends up hungry. The Jay and the Peacock.à This story is similar to The Jackdaw and the Doves, but instead of desiring food, the jay just wants to strut like a proud peacock. The other jays watch the whole thing, disgusted, and refuse to welcome him back. The Eagle and the Jackdaw. A jackdaw, envious of the eagle, tries to behave like one. But without the eagles skills, he gets himself into a sticky situation and ends up as a pet for children, his wings clipped. The Raven and the Swan. A raven who wants to be as beautiful as a swan becomes so obsessed with cleansing his feathers that he moves away from his food source and starves to death. Oh, and his feathers stay black. The Ass and the Grasshopper. à This story is similar to The Raven and the Swan. A donkey, hearing some grasshoppers chirping, jumps to the conclusion that their voices must be a result of their diet. He resolves to eat nothing but dew, and consequently starves. Be Yourself Aesop also has a host of fables designed to demonstrate that we should all be resigned to our station in life and not aspire to anything greater. Foxes should be subservient to lions. Camels shouldnt try to be cute like monkeys. Monkeys shouldnt try to learn to fish. A donkey should put up with a terrible master because he could always have an even worse one.à These arent great lessons for modern children. But Aesops stories about avoiding pretense (and not starving yourself for beauty) still seem relevant today.
